Our client, an Australian-Based boutique adventure tour operating business, selling bespoke adventure safaris to southern and east Africa for small groups or FIT’s from Australia, New Zealand and German-speaking countries. They are looking for a German-Speaking Safari Specialist. This amazing opportunity would allow you to work with a best selling wildlife author.
In addition to safari sales, the role will also entail taking high level bespoke safari itineraries and turning them into reality with all the necessary details for the trip of a lifetime! The role might also include taking responsibility for the German pages of our website.

The Ideal Candidate Should:
Appropriate qualifications in travel will be an advantage, although not essential.
have a very good working knowledge of ‘safari Africa’ having worked in travel as a safari sales consultant with at least 2-3 years retail sales experience.
Be fluent in German and English
have a love for adventure and wildlife, having traveled to wilderness areas in ‘safari Africa’ including both Southern and East Africa.
be able to work under pressure, reach goals and sales targets.
be an all-rounder, and able to work independently with initiative, reliability, and good organisational skills.
be a very structured, organised, honest and with a focus on attention to detail are essential, as industry-leading service is the goal!
have an outgoing personality and great people skills.
Have good MS Office skills is essential and WordPress experience will be an advantage.
Have residency or a work permit for South Africa and intend/able to be in South Africa for the foreseeable future.
Good written communication skills will be a distinct advantage.
Research various destinations and means of travel regarding prices, customs, weather conditions, reviews etc.
Diagnose the clients’ specifications and wishes and suggest suitable travel packages or services
Organize travels from beginning to end, through booking tickets and accommodation, securing rental transportation etc.
Supply travelers with pertinent information and useful travel/holiday material (guides, maps, event programs etc)
Collect deposits and balances
Use promotional techniques and prepare promotional materials to sell itinerary tour packages
Handle unforeseen problems and complaints and determine eligibility for money returns
Attend conferences to maintain familiarity with tourism trends
Create and update electronic records of clients
Maintain relationships with key persons
Keep financial statements and documents
Reach the revenue and profit targets
