Who Are We?

Regenize is a recycling solution on a mission to make recycling accessible, inclusive and rewarding. We provide a freemium recycling service to households, apartments and companies. We partner and integrate informal recycling collectors into our free model by providing uniforms, recycling tricycles, and mobile devices that connect them to the households that separate their waste. We also reward residents for recycling with our virtual currency called Remali, which can be used to purchase various vouchers from airtime, data, and groceries.

Who Are We Looking For?

Regenize is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join a dynamic and passionate team of people who are making a difference in South Africa. You will need to have a high level of competency and be comfortable taking responsibility for your tasks and working independently to achieve results. Proactive, timely implementation and problem-solving skills are essential.


Candidates that meet the following requirements are encouraged to apply:

Education – Relevant bookkeeping qualification
At least 2 years prior bookkeeping experience
Experience – monthly management accounts and budgets
Experience – working with multiple companies and multiple projects essential
Bookkeeping to Balance Sheet
NPC or working with funding experience – advantageous
Experience in the recycling environment – advantageous
Strong data analytical/financial management skills
Strong financial and administrative background
Funder reporting and budget management essential
Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite and strong Excel skills (e.g. V- Lookup, IF functions) and Xero Accounting
Time management and organisational skills
Confident, agile, ambitious, and forward-thinking
High levels of self-motivation and autonomy

What Will You Be Doing?

Develop transparent financial processes and manuals
Bookkeeping and Financial Administration, including invoicing
Manage all company bookkeeping and financial administration functions
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
Manage petty cash
Maintain budget
Maintaining all necessary records, including invoices, expenses, payments and transactions relating to projects
Manage monthly management reports for both the company and projects
Provide monthly up-to-date and accurate funder and project reports to the CEO and project manager
Accurate, up to date records of all financial transactions
Manage statutory obligations – SARS, VAT, Tax, BEE
Ensure strict adherence and compliance to financial control systems, policies and procedures
Monitor project budget implementation and expenditures and communicate outcomes to CEO for decision making
